We are Tapitas, a local catering company producing Spanish-style food in Belfast. We strive to provide nutritious food through a Mediterranean style diet for everyone, but most importantly for children.
What we aim to do is support the initiative of healthy eating which is prominent in many schools across the country. We teach children about the importance of a healthy and balanced diet by introducing new and exciting flavours from Spain. We do this through interactive cooking in front of the children enabling us to teach them about our food and culture, emphasise the importance of healthy eating and allowing us to answer any questions the children may have.
Not only do we provide new and healthy food into the children’s diet, we also provide beneficial learning experiences for the children in your school. We will teach the children about Spanish culture which relates to the Northern Ireland Curriculum (2007) and the PDMU initiative. This will give the children an insight into Spanish culture and teach them about cultural diversity while promoting active learning.
Not only do we provide new and healthy food into the children’s diet, we also provide beneficial learning experiences for the children in your school. What we offer will benefit the area of Learning for Life and Work which incorporates Global Citizenship and will enhance the global dimension of this area of study through teaching the children about Spanish culture and food. It will also be beneficial for those modern language students studying Spanish and Home Economics.
